Through the years individuals have begun to resort to chemical poisons to a greater extent than ever before. This exercise has created more harm than benefit and must be checked. There is a demand to control the use of chemical poisons and spread awareness of options like organic garden pest control.

Pests can do much of damage to a garden or a farm. It can be weeds, insects, birds or other creatures. A fine example of pest infestation is the intro of European rabbits into Australia. The rabbits increased into the thousands and caused universal damage to farms. Likewise, aphids (plant lice) suction the juices from plants employing their straw like mouthparts named stylets, thus inhibiting the growth of plants.

Pests are the worst enemies of farmers all over the earth. Farmers resort to chemical poisons to control the pest peril. Farmers are unaware of the long term significance of chemical pesticides. These pesticides cause serious damage to farms as well as human beings. They start collecting in the land thus making the soil unhealthy for growth. Excessive presence of pesticides and other chemicals in our food chain is termed as ‘Biomagnification’ and this can lead to health issues and hereditary troubles that can lead to genetic manipulation.

Also, these poisons kill not merely the pests but also numerous good bugs, inflicting more injury to the normal ecological balance. Various positive insects like bees and butterflies, which are the main pollinators of our gardens are many times eliminated by chemical “pest control” systems. Surveys have shown that pests start to from a physical resistance towards chemical pesticides. This results in the evolution of “superbugs” that are resistant to average chemical killers. Weeds that could once be obliterated easily by a fast shot of Roundup or some other weed control product are today becoming more resistant to Roundup. This renders the chemical substance useless against weed control.

The safer option is to resort to organic garden pest control. This is a dependable and a great option as it does little harm to the land. Extract the weeds whenever and wherever they crop up. Try pouring some boiling water on weeds when you find them in the cracks of a sidewalk or drive where it may be more difficult to pull them out. It may take some time and elbow grease but boiling water does eliminate the weed without harming the soil. There are some implements available to help with pulling weeds. In order to get more info on organic pest control, check out a gardening magazine (such as Home and Garden) or an on-line web site. One can also ask other ardent gardeners for their tips and tricks.  Gardeners are a friendly group and are commonly prepared to share their productive methods of checking damaging pests.
